About The Timelords
Side-project of The KLF/JAMs which reached number one in the UK Top 40 in June 1988 with the track "Doctorin' The Tardis", which combined the theme tune of the cult TV series "Doctor Who" with samples from glam-rock tracks by The [[artist:253929]] ("Blockbuster") and [[artist:Gary Glitter]] ("Rock and Roll, Part 2"). The band consisted of Lord Rock (AKA Rockman Rock / Jimi Cauty) and Timeboy (AKA Kingboy D / Bill Drummond) and "frontman" Ford Timelord, a talking American police car (a Ford Galaxy rumoured to have been used previously in one of the Superman movies) who actually gave interviews on behalf of the band. The “Timelords aka KLF“ were inspired by the 1978 Blues Brothers film and that iconic "Bluesmobile". The Blues Brothers had used a decommissioned 1974 Dodge Monaco police car in the film and the Timelords video has a similar squad car that they feature in their video “ Doctorin' The Tardis”.
