Dan has been releasing music as Stereo Minus One since 2001, when he founded the Machine Records label in Cardiff, Wales. As of 2025, he has released ten albums.

He ran the monthly Terminal club night from 2003 to 2006, bringing ground-breaking live electronics like Chris Clark, Yellotone, and The Doubtful Guest to Cardiff's legendary Clwb Ifor Bach. His own live performance highlights have included supporting the likes of Llwybr Llaethog, Mira Calix, Mike Paradinas, and Shoji Hano/Gary Smith.
