German punk singer, based in London from 1979 to 1986. After the breakup of **Necessary Evil** (in which she first used the name Stef Petticoat), she 'formed' **The Petticoats**.

Stef began singing age 2 and played guitar and recorder as a youth before auditioning as a singer for several punk bands in the Aachen - Bonn - Cologne area. She returned to Germany in 1986 and formed **69 Lies** in Berlin.
