Skiz Fernando Jr. started his career as a journalist. Writing articles in different fanzines or magazines like Rolling Stone, interviews and records' liner notes. In 1994 he published: "The New Beats : exploring the music, culture and attitudes of hip-hop" (Anchor Books).
