Last of the original [[artist:86163]]. Born in Oakland California on 1946-03-19. Mother of [[artist:Issa Pointer]] (1978), her daughter with [[artist:94079]] (they were married between 1980 and 1983). Ruth is still an active member of the Pointer Sisters and continues to tour with Issa and her daughter Sadako. Ruth also helps charitable organizations such as the Special Olympics and Best Buddies, both of which are dear to her heart. Ruth has also volunteered for the USO and is one of their International Spokespersons, performing for troops all over the world. Unlike sisters Anita and June, she has not recorded a solo album of her own.
