About Roy Grant
Roy Jazz Grant (Roy Alvin Grant) is a South Florida–based DJ, music producer, label owner, and creative leader known for blending soulful house, jazz influences, Latin rhythms, and inspirational themes into his work. With roots tracing back to the original Jazz N Groove era alongside Brian Tappert, Roy developed a deep foundation in underground house music before evolving into a multifaceted artist and independent label executive.
Over the years, Roy has performed as a DJ and MC at clubs, private events, corporate functions, and conferences, while continuing to produce music that merges classic jazz sensibilities with modern house production. His releases range from soulful and Latin-influenced house tracks to deeper, mood-driven projects under various aliases.
In 2016, Roy founded Apt D4 Records as a platform to release original music and support creative independence. The label has grown into a consistent outlet for soulful house and genre-blending releases, helping define his signature sound while allowing creative experimentation. In addition to Apt D4 Records, Roy has expanded into multiple label brands and artist identities, including projects focused on jazz-house, ambient, and inspirational music.
Beyond music, Roy is a longtime children’s pastor and ministry leader in South Florida, currently leading children’s ministries at multiple campuses while integrating creativity, faith, and storytelling into his work. His passion for mentoring and family ministry influences much of his artistic vision and messaging.
Roy is also an author and speaker, known for devotional and faith-based writing projects that connect parenting, faith, and modern culture. His creative identity bridges music, ministry, and education — reflecting a commitment to authenticity, encouragement, and artistic growth.
Continuing to release new material, Roy Jazz Grant remains dedicated to creating music that moves both the dance floor and the heart, honoring his roots while pushing forward as an independent artist and producer.
