Born in Swansea (Wales) in 1959. Barrett composes instrumental as well as electronic works. As a performer of live electronic music, Barrett has been working since 1986 in the duo FURT with [[artist:Paul Obermayer]], as well as collaborating with vocalist [[artist:Ute Wassermann]] (his partner). Having lived in both Amsterdam (where he taught at the Institute of Sonology in Den Haag) & Berlin, Barrett has now returned to England & teaches at Brunel University in London.
