Phil Wells was a techno DJ and producer who ran the Growth Club nights in London from 1994 and founded techno collective Subhead in 1995. He moved to Tokyo in 1999 and took on the DJ moniker DJ Sueme, while continuing producing as part of Subhead.

Phil died following a massive stroke December 2007.
