Guitarist, singer and songwriter, born on 06.09.1961 in Tonsenhagen, a district of Oslo, Norway as [[artist:Pål Waaktaar Gamst]].

His first band was called 'Black Days'. Later he played together with [[artist:Magne Furuholmen]] in the band [[artist:Bridges (4)]], which released a LP called '[r=2704997]' in 1981.

Since 21 December 1991 Paul is married with [[artist:Lauren Waaktaar-Savoy]].

After years of fighting the Anglophone media to correct the spelling of his first name, in 1994 he settled on a spelling of "Paul".
