Paul began DJing in the late 70s in the disco explosion of Saturday Night Fever. Having a love of soul & disco music He worked in east end pubs from 1978. He started a residency in 1981 at a popular pub in Leytonstone called the Charleston where he stayed for 11 years playing Soul & Funk plus plenty of Disco and Jazz Funk. It was here that he first met a young 'pot man' called Ronnie Herel who loved the music Paul was playing and wanted to Dj for himself. During the latter part of the decade House music began to emerge with the ease of making music yourself. He studied for a year as an audio engineer in 1987 and graduated as a Sound Engineer. It was then that he got involved with Ronnie Herel and Dave Rawlings in their 'Quartz' project which eventually spawned a top ten hit 'It's Too Late' which introduced the world to Dina Carroll. He went on to program their album 'Perfect Timing' which gave them another hit 'Naked Love'

Quartz went their separate ways with Ronnie Herel moving into radio with Radio 1xtra/Mi-soul. Paul continued working with Dave Rawlings releasing House/Techno and Drum & Bass projects plus a Jazz project called The Jazz Vandall's which eventually released 4 albums of jazz dance. It was during this time that he met Sarah Weller and once the association with Dave Rawlings ended he along with Sarah and guitarist Simon Golding formed The Urban Dwellers who released their debut album 'Shopworn Angel' in 2001 along with contributing tracks to Hed Kandi's Serve Chilled/Nu Cool/Winter Chill series of compilations. All during this time he had built a small career as a wedding Dj supporting function bands across the south east of England.

Paul is still writing music and performing DJ duties playing Jazz Funk and Soul.
