In the early days, he had a band called [[artist:Les Voleurs]] and produced drum & bass as [[artist:Scalar]]. Later, he became commonly known for his collaborative works and remixes with fellow Englishman [[artist:Mark Pledger]] under their trance guise as [[artist:Smith & Pledger]] (also known as [[artist:Aspekt]] and [[artist:White Water]]). In 2006 he started to focus on his solo trance career under his real name and in 2013, he debuted his deep progressive alias [[artist:Meramek]].

On May 2 2025, he released his long-awaited debut album [m=3833976].
