About Nick Halkes

His first job in the music industry was an intern at WBOS radio in New York in the late-80s. His work there led him to become the UK rep for [[label:Easy Street Records]]. He then worked for Secret PR, before joining [[label:City Beat]] as Club Promotions manager. He then suggested to Tim Palmer (owner of City Beat) the setting up of [[label:XL Recordings]] where he became label manager.

He left XL in 1993 to join up with [[label:EMI]], where he set up and managed the [[label:Positiva]] label. After leaving there he founded his own label, [[label:Incentive Music Limited]].

He currently manages [[artist:Caspa (3)]].
