Michael Rother

German experimental musician, born 2 September 1950 in Hamburg. He was in the group Spirits of Sound with [[artist:Wolfgang Riechmann]] and [[artist:Wolfgang Flür]] until 1970. For a very short time he played with [[artist:Kraftwerk]], though it was in between their first two albums and he is not featured on any of their official releases. When he left Kraftwerk, he took [[artist:Klaus Dinger]] with him and together they formed [[artist:Neu!]]. Simultaneously to that band, Rother collaborated with [[artist:Hans-Joachim Roedelius]] and [[artist:Dieter Moebius]] of [[artist:Cluster]] in a new project called [[artist:Harmonia]]. In 1976 he decided to go solo, though he still toured with Moebius until 2014.
