1990–1994

Maurice discovered hardcore in the early ‘90s through tapes from Rotterdam’s legendary Parkzicht. Inspired by the Houseparty mixes, he soon started collecting records, buying his first release—Reanimator – Bigger and Bolder (K.N.O.R.)—at Midtown in his hometown.

1994–1998

His passion shifted from collecting to producing. After experimenting with trackers and MIDI production, Maurice completed his first tracks and presented them to 80 AUM Records. This resulted in the launch of Unknown Species Records, releasing Dark Earth – Wisdom of the Grave. Unfortunately, the collapse of the hardcore market prevented further releases.

1998–2005

As 80 AUM evolved into AMP International, Maurice produced various electronic styles for several labels. In 2001, he co-founded FIX Records with Phuture Rave, releasing Zanthrax – My Project as the label’s debut.

2005

Paul Mols invited Maurice to release on Underground Society, leading to the Mind Battle series. The track Children of Hell became his breakthrough, appearing on major compilations including Thunderdome, Hardcore Emotions, and Partyraiser’s One Man, Half Machine.

2006

Maurice launched the Ben Harder Show on Drechtstad FM and signed with SYMP.TOM, where several productions were released. Together with Mental Wreckage he formed Dual Mechanism, while his collaboration Melody Remedy was featured on Thunderdome 2006.

2007

Dark By Nature received its official release on Zero Tolerance Records after previously appearing as a limited white label. Maurice released his first solo The Relic EP on SYMP.TOM, Dual Mechanism debuted on the label, and his remix of Neophyte – Recession appeared on the ROT 100 anniversary release, receiving widespread DJ support.

2008

Several new releases followed on SYMP.TOM, including collaborations with Moleculez and a new The Relic EP featuring White Darkness. Maurice and Mental Wreckage also released a 2CD mix compilation, while the Ben Harder Show continued to grow into one of the leading hardcore radio shows in the region.
