Born 24.05.1956 in New York, New York.

Worked as a session drummer in the early 1970s. Later formed the [[label:New York City Players, Inc.]], a band that would evolve into [[artist:Cameo]] in the mid-1970s. Blackmon has been the band’s leader since then.

In 1983 Blackmon founded the [[label:Atlanta Artists]] record label.
