American noise/indie rock band initially formed by [[artist:Sonic Youth]]'s [[artist:Kim Gordon]] and [[artist:252968]]'s [[artist:377472]] in 1992, joined by [[artist:187086]] from [[artist:32328]] (on drums) in 1993 and [[artist:7578]]'s [[artist:403612]] on bass in 1994. The group stopped in 1997 but was reactivated in 2007, without Mark Ibold.
