Co-founder of [[label:Whaam! Records]] and [[label:Artpop! Records]]. Best friend of [[artist:Alan McGee]], with whom he worked at [[label:Creation Records]]. Ran a short-lived Creation sublabel, named [[label:Ball Product]]. Regularly played live with [[artist:The Boo Radleys]] in the mid-90s.

Ed has worked under many aliases, over a vast array of styles and genres, most famously as The Times. Some of these aliases, such as The Times and Teenage Filmstars, started out as groups - but their names were later resurrected as solo Ed Ball projects.
