Brazilian jazz drummer, percussionist and composer (born on August 3, 1925 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; died on July 27, 2005 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). Played with [[artist:Cannonball Adderley]], [[artist:Tony Bennett]], [[artist:Ron Carter]], [[artist:Astrud Gilberto]],[[artist:Antonio Carlos Jobim]], [[artist:McCoy Tyner]], [[artist:Sergio Mendes]], [[artist:Robert Palmer]], [[artist:Ithamara Koorax]], [[artist:Frank Sinatra]], [[artist:Stanley Turrentine]] and many others. From 1971 to 1974, he was a member of [[artist:Weather Report]]. Recorded as a leader for [[label:Muse Records]], [[label:Pablo Records]] and [[label:JSR]] labels.
