Derek Johnson

Bassist from Manchester. Brother to [[artist:A Certain Ratio]]'s drummer [[artist:Donald Johnson]] and [[artist:Sweet Sensation (2)]]'s bassist [[artist:Barry Johnson (8)]]. **Please do not confuse with guitarist [[artist:Derek Johnson (5)]]**. He was a member of the first [[artist:52nd Street]] line up for their three [[label:Factory]] singles until the band decided to sign a contract with [[label:10 Records]]. He wanted to stay with the [[label:Factory]] roster, so he left the band and was replaced by [[artist:Tony Bowry]]. He also played for [[artist:Quando Quango]]. In 1993 he adopted the nickname [[artist:Juneroy Johnson]] and went to play along with [[artist:Cool Down Zone]]'s [[artist:Myke Wilson]] in [[artist:Swing Out Sister]].
