Client was originally formed by Kate Holmes (former member of [[artist:Frazier Chorus]] then [[artist:Technique]]) aka [[artist:Client A]] and Sarah Blackwood (former member of [[artist:Dubstar (2)]]) aka [[artist:Client B]].

In 2002 they were the first signing to [[label:Toast Hawaii]], the label run by Depeche Mode's [[artist:Andrew Fletcher]].

After the split with Toast Hawaii in 2005, Client was signed by different labels like [[label:Out Of Line]] (for Europe except UK and Scandinavia), [[label:Subspace Communications]] (for Scandinavia), [[label:Metropolis]] (USA) and [[label:Noiselab]] (Mexico). In the UK they release on band member Kate Holmes' own label [[label:Loser Friendly Records]].

On December 19th 2010, Client B left the band. Nicole Thomas has been recruited for vocal duties.
