American arranger, producer, conductor, composer, born in Newark, New Jersey on August 24, 1938.

Started his career in the 50's along with [[artist:Frankie Valli]] in [[artist:1647445]], first replacing [[artist:708557]] on bass from 1965 to 1966, and then becoming the arranger for [[artist:121112]] later on.

After his stint in the [[artist:The Four Seasons]] he became staff arranger/producer at [[label:Columbia Records]].

Has worked with top artists and super stars like [[artist:Frank Sinatra]], [[artist:Neil Diamond]], [[artist:Al Kooper]], [[artist:Bruce Springsteen]], [[artist:Laura Nyro]], [[artist:Barbra Streisand]], [[artist:Engelbert Humperdinck]], [[artist:Ray Charles]], [[artist:Juice Newton]], [[artist:Janis Ian]], [[artist:Barry Manilow]], etc.

He charted three times as a singer (as Charlie Calello Singers) and six times as a songwriter--all between 1963 and 1979. His top singing song was "When I Tell You That I Love You", which made it to #32 on the U.S. adult contemporary chart. His top songwriter song was "New Mexican Rose" by The Four Seasons in 1963 which reached #36 in the U.S.
