Carla Benson

Singer and backing vocalist, born in Camden, New Jersey. Sister of [[artist:119192]]. Formed a vocal trio with her cousin [[artist:Barbara Ingram]] and friend [[artist:Evette Benton]] in the early 1970s. Known as The Sweethearts of Sigma, [[artist:2416241]], [[artist:363546]] or The Sweeties the trio sang backing vocals on numerous Philadelphia-based recordings during the 1970s and early 1980s.
