Formed in Birmingham in 1995. Original members: [[artist:Trish Keenan]] - vocals [[artist:Roj Stevens]] - keyboards [[artist:James Cargill]] - bass [[artist:Tim Felton]] - guitar [[artist:Steve Perkins (2)]] - drums They first appeared on [[label:Wurlitzer Jukebox]] in 1996. Their experimental pop music references the work of [[artist:BBC Radiophonic Workshop]], [[artist:Ennio Morricone]] or [[artist:John Barry]]. At the time they were frequently associated with [[artist:Stereolab]]. Lead singer Trish Keenan died of pneumonia on 14 January 2011 at the age of 42.
