About Brand Nubian

Hip Hop group form New Rochelle, New York.

Original members, [[artist:Maxwell Dixon]] (aka [[artist:Grand Puba]]), [[artist:Derrick Murphy]] (aka [[artist:Sadat X]]), [[artist:Lorenzo DeChalus]] (aka [[artist:Lord Jamar]]), and [[artist:Alamo]] formed Brand Nubian in 1989 after [[artist:Grand Puba]]'s former group, [[artist:Masters Of Ceremony (2)]] disbanded.

They signed to [[label:Elektra]] and released the breakthrough album "One for All", most remembered for the sampling of [[artist:Edie Brickell]]'s 'What I Am' in 'Slow Down'.
