About Avant Garde

German house act. Their release "Get Down" (1999) used a sample from "D.I.S.C.O." originally performed by [[artist:Ottawan]] The name 'Avant Garde' is derivated from [[artist:Daniel Vangarde]] AKA [[artist:Daniel Bangalter]], producer and composer for [[artist:Ottawan]], but also the father of [[artist:Thomas Bangalter]] from [[artist:Daft Punk]]. Their second single, "Dont' Stop" (2001), used a sample from "Let's Groove" performed by [[artist:Earth Wind & Fire]].
