About Atrax Morgue
Solo project of Italian musician Marco Corbelli, which he started in 1993. Also founder of [[label:Slaughter Productions]] label.
Corbelli’s artistic journey began in the early 90’s. Under the pseudonym of Marco Rotula, he started to release a series of fanzines in A5 format. The first was "The Pleasure Agony", followed by "Sick" and "Murders". The aesthetics of these first fanzines were very sophisticated, and the content dealt with topics that would follow Marco throughout his music career: sadism, schizophrenia, insanity, murder, psychosis, necrophilia, diseases, and most importantly death.
In 1993, greatly inspired by Italian Power Electronics act [[artist:The Sodality]] (and their LP [m=230474]), as well as [[artist:Whitehouse]] and [[artist:Brighter Death Now]], Corbelli began his involvement in music creating Slaughter Productions and Atrax Morgue, releasing his first tape [m=11027]. The main manifesto of Atrax Morgue was the analysis of death, his perfection and complete habituation: injections of death to continue to live. Corbelli's set-up was minimal: an analog synthesizer Sequential Circuits Six-Trak, a microphone connected with a Yamaha multi-effect, tape decks and a mixer. Marco created almost all his releases with this equipent.
After more than 90 releases credited to his name, and a select live shows over the years, Corbelli committed suicide by hanging on 6th May 2007.
