About Armando Marçal

Brazilian percussionist, singer and songwriter. Son of [[artist:701135]] and grandson of [[artist:1183307]]. Sometimes credited as Marçalzinho. Not to be mistaken for his father, [[artist:701135]], also percussionist, that played with [[artist:732867]] and [[artist:333213]] from the 1950s through the 1980s.

He started recording at the age of 16, and since then he has recorded with Paulinho Da Viola, Paralamas Do Sucesso, Emílio Santiago, Gal Costa, Caetano Veloso, Djavan, Nei Lopes, João Bosco, Lulu Santos and many other artists. From 1986 to 1996, he was part of Pat Metheny's band.
