Born Alejandro Ramírez Casas, October 9, 1958 in Havana, Cuba, to Cuban-American parents. He lived there just a short time before moving with his mother to the United States to the suburbs of Chicago. She remarried a Norwegian stock car mechanic and driver named Jorgensen from which the surname got adapted.
